System of a down
Pues con este nombre tan poco ocurrente hago referencia a un post que, espero, sirva de homenaje a one of the best bands of the last decade, if not the best: System of a Down.
Recently the news appeared that we were afraid all the fans after the publication of the first solo album by Serj Tankian, called 'Elect the Dead': System Of A Down decided to make an indefinite pause in activity, presumably due to low and they had to do together. There are some artists who are in this for money and would not be bound to release a new album just to satisfy the demand for their label and their fans.
Serj Following statements by one side and the rest of the band on the other, it seems clear that Serj was above idea and that the above depends on to meet again, or not.
magnificent 5-disc Gone are those who proceed to give a quick overview:
'System of a Down' (1998)
His first assault was so powerful and surprising. Where do these 4 Armenians had left majaras able to remind Faith No More, Korn and Slayer? With melodic songs (Spiders), fun (Sugar), protest (War) and a point of madness that had no other metal bands, almost inexsistentes exceeded expectations and paved the way before the big impact that was coming ...
'Toxicity' (2001)
The best metal album of the century, no doubt. This phrase is so forcefulness and sincere as the disk itself. Produced by Rick Rubin, the album sounds as fresh and addictive, 8 years after its release, I still wake up the adrenaline as it does any other album. After a home perhaps somewhat loose compared to the rest of the disc (the original song Prison is probably the worst song on the album, yet still better than 80% of current metal music), we are overwhelmed with 4 lashes that look like one. The singles (Chop Suey, Toxicity and Aerials) are classics of the metal and the madness of Psycho or Bounce can not leave anyone indifferent. This is perhaps also the disc into the most noticeable influence of the music of eastern europe, because it is easy to imagine a Russian dance while playing the Kachachov Needles. Insurmountable.
'Steal This Album' (2002)
recording sessions of 'toxicity' were so productive that many issues had to be left out. Subsequently, the theft by Internet these topics (and their subsequent circulation through the network) led to the release of this disc. The group decided that these issues had to be published legally, so this album is basically a compilation of "outtakes" from their previous albums. It has some very good moments, especially with Innervision, Roulette.
'Mesmerize / Hypnotize "(2005)
And finally in 2005 edited the expected continuation of 'toxicity'. This time, they gave everything. While released two albums. Once discarded the idea of \u200b\u200bthe double album, released in April 'mesmerize' in December 'hypnotize' for, they say, "that fans can fully assimilate the contents of the first album before going to listen to the second." Either that or be a ploy by the record, the fact is that both discs are good enough to speak of them separately, but due to the connection that binds you must do so together. Because it was recorded all at once and they took it as 2 parts of a whole (as evidenced by the fact that they have 2 versions of soldier song, one for opening mesmerize and hypnotize another to close.) And as the sound of the discs, it is overwhelming. 'BYOB', the first single, and was a good example of what could give him the rest of the albums. With a sound more polished, but equally convincing in 'toxicity', BYOB begins with a brutal riff and the chorus has more commercial of all his discography. Armenian roots show on "Radio / Video ', consumer electronics' old school hollywood ', the tension that gets on your nerves in" kill rock and roll', a great half-time to 'hypnotize', and even ballads with the Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Lonely Day' or 'Lost in Hollywood'. A work of stunning magnitude, perfect to stay in the top of the podium between groups XXI century.
Now we expect two of the most exciting projects. Serj Tankian a year ago he published his "Elect the Dead 'and recently Scars on Broadway (the new group of Daron Malakian and John Dolmayan).
All this you can hear in the playlist. I've added several songs from System of a Down and the first single from Scars on Broadway, as well as a song of Serj Tankian.
Ale, and enjoy!
